What do I need to consider when designing the layout?

Some important things to bear in mind when designing your email newsletter are:

- Recommended width: 600px
- Background image can only be used over the entire newsletter (body) - not for individual elements (otherwise this element will need to be saved as an image)
- Use web-safe fonts (web fonts)
- Don't use any absolute positioned elements 
- It is not possible to use CSS3 attributes (e.g. border radius, box shadow, image replacement)

Pictures and images help to break up the text and ensure better readability for the user, so try to ensure an even image-content ratio. Don't overwhelm the reader with too much text, or long sentences without punctuation. 

Use meaningful images, and align fonts and colors with your corporate branding. Finally, avoid changing the design of your emails too often.
