How Do I Set Up a Custom Tracking Domain for Click and Link Tracking?

We’ll use the domain example.org as an example, please replace it with your own domain name. To set up a custom tracking domain on your web server, follow these steps:

1. Select a subdomain that isn’t currently in use. Try to choose a name that is easily identifiable, e.g.,   newsletter.example.org

2. Create a new DNS record for the subdomain created in step 1. If you don’t know how to set up a DNS entry, please contact your service administrator or web host. In the DNS administration, create a new record and define a  CNAME on tracking.newsletter2go.com. If you use a zone file, the entry will appear as follows: newsletter IN CNAME tracking.newsletter2go.com.

3. Log into your Newsletter2Go account. Navigate to the drop-down menu at the top right of your screen and click on Email Settings > Tracking.

Tick the box next to Custom Tracking Domain. Enter the subdomain created in step 1 and save your changes. The tracking domain must be entered as a full URL, beginning with http:// in order to be recognized as a valid URL, in our example it would look like the following: http://newsletter.example.org

Please don't use "https://." This would assume a security certificate, which our tool doesn't offer, and the tracking wouldn’t work.
